The announcement was held in the Esso Memories and Dreams room at Air Canada Centre, and to mark the occasion Ron Ellis, representing the Maple Leafs Alumni Team, and Steve Shutt, representing the Legends Team, were presented with their respective team jerseys.

"This is an exciting game where legendary Leafs rivalries will be re-lived on the ice at Air Canada Centre," says Tom Anselmi, senior vice president of business, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. Johnny Bower will be honourary coach of the Leafs Alumni team. More names will be released as they are confirmed.

"In fact, as a tie-in to the game, we're offering free admission to the Hockey Hall of Fame with the purchase of every ticket to the Legends game. This will give fans a chance to see their legendary heroes in action and then to experience their stories as displayed in the Hall of Fame."
