Leafs forward Nazem Kadri
met with the media on Monday following practice at Air Canada Centre. Here's what a sampling of what he had to say...
On James Reimer's post-game comments on Friday:
We're all on the same page. Like I said, beforehand it would seem like we'd play well and not get the upperhand or play 50 minutes instead of 60 and that cost you in the NHL. You focus on putting in a good day's work and, especially coming out right off the start. It's tough battling back and being behind the eight ball every single game. It was important for us to get the first two goals and just roll from there.
On Clarkson's scratch:
Either way we were going to be going. Clarky is great in the dressing room, he does a lot for us in terms of leadership and being good for the young guys, especially myself. We all just work together, we're on the same page, we're not trying to be individuals. We work as a team.
On the blueline helping the offensive output on Saturday:
Big time, those are opportunities to score that we've got to take advantage of, especially if we're not getting as many. We started to get a little luckier now, putting pucks on net and we're finding the back of the net. It's just something we've got to continue to preach and reiterate and get pucks and bodies to the net and good things will happen.
On his backhand pass to set up Santorelli's goal:
I don't know if it went over Winnie's head or what happened, Santo just broke. He did a great job noticing I had full control of the puck and just went, I caught a glimpse of him and I tried to put it in his area. I'll definitely take the assist but it was a heck of a shot.
