PHILADELPHIA - Toronto Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin was injured during the first period of Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The 37-year-old suffered a groin strain and is day-to-day.

Sundin had eight shifts in the first period for a total of four minutes 58 seconds of ice time but didn't return for the second.

He's the Maple Leafs leading scorer with 77 points (32-45) in 72 games.
