Leafs Sign Todd Ford

(June 1, 2004) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Tuesday that the club has signed goaltender Todd Ford to a multi-year entry level contract.

 

As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ford, 20, split the 2003-04 season between the Prince George Cougars and Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League. In 28 games for Prince George, he compiled a record of 8-14-4 with a 3.32 goals against average.

In 10 games for Vancouver, he posted a record of 1-7-1 with a 3.47 goals against average. Ford also appeared in one WHL playoff game for Vancouver.

The native of Calgary, Alberta was Toronto's third choice, 74th overall in the 2002 Entry Draft and has spent the last four seasons playing in the Western Hockey League.
