Leafs, Sabres settle nothing

TORONTO (AP) -- Miroslav Satan scored with 36 seconds left in regulation to cap a four-goal flurry in the final five minutes of the third period and lift the Buffalo Sabres into a 3-3 exhibition tie with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With the score tied 1-1, Tom Fitzgerald scored at 15:29 to give the Maple Leafs the lead. Fitzgerald scored again 2:08 later to make it 3-1.

Tim Connolly scored on a rebound at 18:36 to bring Buffalo within one, and Satan tallied the tying goal from a scramble to force overtime.

The Sabres took a 1-0 lead when defenseman Rhett Warrener slapped a long shot past Sebastien Centomo with 14 seconds remaining in the second period.

Alyn McCauley tied it by backhanding his own rebound past Mika Noronen at 10:32 of the third.
