The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that the team has recalled defenceman Connor Carrick from the Toronto Marlies (AHL) while defenceman Stuart Percy has been loaned to the Marlies.
Carrick, 21, was acquired in a trade with the Washington Capitals last night. This season, the Orland Park, Illinois native has skated in three games with the Capitals and 47 games with their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hershey Bears. He has collected 26 points (10 goals, 16 assists) with the Bears and was named an AHL All-Star this year. Carrick was originally selected by Washington in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and has registered six points (one goal, five assists) and 23 penalty minutes in 37 career NHL games.
Percy, 22, played in three games with the Maple Leafs after being recalled from the Marlies on February 22. He has recorded 19 points (four goals, 15 assists) in 43 games with the Marlies this season.
The Maple Leafs host the Tampa Bay Lightning at Air Canada Centre tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST.
