Original Six Rivalry Rekindled as Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni take on the Detroit Red Wings Alumni Friday, February 8 at Ricoh Coliseum, Toronto

The teams are firming up for Leafs Nation vs Hockeytown in what will be a truly historic game featuring players participating in their first Alumni team on the eve of Hockey Day in Canada.  Game day is Friday, February 8 at Ricoh Coliseum and tickets are on sale now.

Suiting up for the Toronto Maple Leaf Alumni team will be forwards Pat Boutette, Dan Daoust, Bill Derlago, Kris King, Gary Leeman, Mark Osborne, Wilf Paiement and Peter Zezel.  Todd Gill, Bob McGill and Mike Pelyk will comprise the Leafs defensive team holding back the Red Wings. More players will be announced shortly. 

On the coaching side, the man who lead the Leafs into the playoffs his first season and who went on to win three consecutive Stanley Cup championships - 1962 to 1964, Johnny Bower, will be coaching the Leafs Alumni team along with fellow Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee Norm Ullman.  Jim Gregory, former General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs is the General Manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs Alumni Association.

For the Detroit Red Wings, Dino Ciccarelli, Marcel Dionne, Dennis Hextall, Tony McKegney, Bob Probert, Mickey Redmond and more players to be announced, will arrive in Toronto courtesy of VIA Rail. 

For one night only, past and present meet to bring you the men who have shaped many of the 23 playoff series and 639 regular season meetings between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings.

Heroes they were and heroes they remain.
