Here's what Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk
had to say following Sunday's practice.
What positives do you take away from Saturday's performance?
I thought as far as carrying the play we did a good job. We got a lot of opportunities and with 52 shots you usually win those games, but we didn't. We made a few mistakes and they ended up in the back of our net and that's just the way it goes sometimes.
Do all losses feel the same or do you leave certain losses feeling better as a team?
Any time you don't get the two points it's not a great feeling but we definitely can look back on some things and build on them and keep getting better.
If you play that game on a team without Price is it a different story?
Yeah he had a great game and that's another part of the equation. He won the Hart Trophy last year for a reason and he has picked up where he left off last year. He's a tough guy to get one past.
How do you stay positive playing the right way if the wins aren't coming?
You've just got to stick with it. That's what our job is. Obviously we know we've done quite a few good things over the course of the season so far. We've just got to put them all together for a full 60 minutes and build off that.
How does the emphasis on play down low impact your game?
That's a part of the game I want to continue to improve upon and it's something I continue to work at every day. They're good at communicating the things that they want us to do. As players we have to go out and execute it.
