Druken Assigned To St. John's

(December 6, 2003) -- The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Saturday that they have re-assigned forward Harold Druken to the St. John's Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League.


Druken, 24, has played seven games for Toronto collecting four assists with two penalty minutes. He registered back to back assists November 27 at Atlanta and November 29 at Ottawa. Druken has also played eight games for St. John's collecting 11 points (seven goals, four assists) with eight penalty minutes.


The native of St. John's, Newfoundland has played 144 career NHL games for Vancouver, Carolina and Toronto collecting 63 points (27 goals, 36 assists) with 36 penalty minutes. He has also played four career NHL playoff games collecting one assist.


Druken was acquired by Toronto from Carolina in exchange for Allan Rourke May 29, 2003. He was originally Vancouver's third choice, 36th overall in the 1997 Entry Draft.
