Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke will not fire his coach this season, saying Ron Wilson's job is ``as safe as the gold in the treasury at Fort Knox.''
Burke addressed reporters at the Air Canada Centre on Thursday morning.
``There is not going to be a coaching change,'' Burke said. ``That has not been considered, discussed, or whatever.''
The Leafs have lost four in a row heading into Thursday night's game at home against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The team has not scored a power-play goal in any of those losses.
Burke also said he would not ask Tomas Kaberle to waive his no-trade clause. He said it would be ``different'' if the veteran defenceman approached him and offered a list of teams he would play for.
``I will not ask Tomas Kaberle to waive his no-trade clause,'' Burke said. ``I sent his agent a note yesterday.''
