Team Canada won their second straight game at the 2010 World Hockey Championships on Monday defeating Latvia 6-1.
John Tavares and Mark Giordano scored two power play goals each as Canada went 4-6 with the man advantage.
Leafs defenceman Francois Beauchemin was held scoreless for the second straight game but he played a team-high 21:11. With Ryan Smyth being lost for the rest of the tournament, Beauchemin will be counted on for even more leadership with the young Canadian squad.
While Canada has started off on the right foot, Team USA lost their second straight overtime game this time 2-1 to Denmark.
Christian Hanson had two shots on net while seeing 9:10 of ice time in the loss. He remains scoreless after playing his first two games representing the U.S.
With the two loses, Team USA will now need a regulation win over Finland to gain entry into the qualification round. Another loss will put them into the relegation round.
