(February 9, 2006) -- After a record breaking 2005, Air Canada Centre continues to move up in venue entertainment rankings worldwide. Based on data from three leading entertainment publications, Air Canada Centre was rated in the top five among concert venues globally. Venues Today, Billboard and Pollstar ranked Air Canada Centre third, fourth and fifth respectively based on concert gate receipts.
Air Canada Centre has once again been recognized as one of the best entertainment venues.

Last year Canada's premier sports and entertainment venue hosted a record 50 soldout concerts including four U2 shows, Duran Duran, Paul McCartney and the Dave Matthews Band.

"These industry rankings are a true testament to the efforts of our events and facilities team to keep Air Canada Centre a favourite performance venue among artists and the number one choice among concert promoters," said Bob Hunter, executive vice-president and general manager of Air Canada Centre. "We're proud that Air Canada Centre continues to remain a leading concert venue in the industry."

2006 has started out strong for Air Canada Centre with four soldout Bon Jovi concerts with Toronto the only Canadian city to host multiple shows for the Have a Nice Day tour. Other concerts and events scheduled later in the year include Oasis, Nickelback, Willie Nelson, Cirque du Soleil, Queen and the return of Coldplay for two more soldout shows.

In its seven year history, Air Canada Centre has hosted more than 17.5 million guests at more than 1,200 events.

Air Canada Centre is slated to undergo a major expansion in early 2008 in time for completion for the arena's 10-year anniversary. The expansion will provide more venue entry points and include a new multi-level concourse on the west side of the building.
