It was nice to have some different faces around the Lightning locker room this morning as the Vancouver Canucks visit the Lightning for the first time since 2002-03. I’m a person who enjoys seeing a team that doesn’t come down often a lot more than seeing the Washington Capitals for the sixth time in a season. Maybe familiarity builds rivalries, but I’d rather have the chance to appreciate the skills of some of the NHL stars we never see – like Markus Naslund and the Sedin brothers. I’m not including Roberto Luongo in the list because we’ve seen enough of him here!

The Lightning lineup tonight should look a lot like Tuesday night’s group, with Karri Ramo getting the nod in goal. Vancouver is battling a lot of injuries on the blue line, so hopefully the Bolts forwards can get something going early and keep the pressure up in the Vancouver end. If Tampa Bay’s big forwards are on their game, it could be a good night for them.

Email time!

Mike and Cadair asked if there’s any news on the potential sale of the team.

It’s been pretty quiet on that front. It was initially said that the OK Hockey group, led by Hollywood Producer Oren Koules, hoped to have a purchase agreement in place by the end of January. Well, here we are, but no announcement yet. I’d guess that there will be some kind of news soon.

Julie is wondering about the music that’s played during warm-ups.

Well Julie, here’s your iPod playlist of Lightning warm-up music. It’s chosen by the players, by the way.

City of Blinding Lights – U2; Best of You - Foo Fighters; Mouth for War – Pantera; Sugar, We're Going Down - Fall Out Boys; My Music at Work - The Tragically Hip; Desire - U2; Mr. Brightside - The Killers; Small Town - John Mellancamp; Whisky In the Jar – Mettalica

Rocco from Canada is wondering if it’s true that the Lightning are talking to Montreal about a trade involving Vincent Lecavalier.

Sorry to be harsh Rocco, but let’s please be serious. The Montreal fans and media have been trading Vinny to the Canadiens every season since he entered the league, and never has there been any truth to the rumors. Even when the Lightning almost traded Lecavalier years ago, Montreal wasn’t involved.

I guess those rumors will always be there, just like Lecavalier will always be here!

Bruce is wondering how Dan Boyle said his wrist felt after his return from injury last week.

Bruce, Dan said his wrist felt great, it was his conditioning that needed to improve. Dan’s looked great so far in his first two games back, and it’s nice to have his creativity back on the blue line. It’s also nice that I get to stop answering questions about his wrist!

Finally, Deb wants to know if I think the Lightning will make a trade, and who might be traded.

Well Deb, I know I call myself The Insider, but I’d have to be inside Jay Feaster’s office to be able to answer that one. While it seems to be more and more possible the Lightning could make a deal, it’s anybody’s guess right now who would be involved. This season’s trade deadline and the upcoming summer could be extremely important for the Bolts.
