I’ll get to the six re-assignments the Lightning made tonight after providing an injury update from tonight’s game against Washington. Vinny Lecavalier left the game in the second period with an upper body injury, but he reassured the media following the game that he’ll be fine and doesn’t expect to miss any time. Sounds like he left as a precautionary move.
The news on Dan Boyle, however, isn’t as good. According to Lightning GM Jay Feaster, Boyle was injured in a freak accident in the locker room following the game when his skate fell from the top of his locker and cut his left wrist. Boyle is scheduled to have surgery Sunday to repair the abductor tendon in his wrist, and Feaster estimated he could be out 3-6 weeks.
Six players were sent to the Norfolk Admirals training camp following the game, reducing the Lightning roster to 27 heading into Monday’s game against Detroit. The cuts were D Dan Jancevski, F Blair Jones, D Jay Leach, F Norm Milley, D David Schneider, F Karl Stewart.
