Continuing the infusion of youth and energy into the lineup, the Lightning have recalled center Zenon Konopka on an emergency basis for tonight’s game in Buffalo. Konopka is expected to be in the lineup in place of Adam Hall, who will be out with an undisclosed upper body injury. Left wing Ryan Malone still isn’t ready to go, and the same goes for Matt Pettinger and Gary Roberts.

If you had a chance to see Konopka during the preseason, you know you’ll probably like what you see from him on the ice. Much like Steve Downie, Konopka isn’t afraid to mix it up in the corners and gets under the skin of opponents.

The team changed things up this morning and held a long meeting and video session at HSBC Arena instead of a full morning skate. The extra rest will be important with another game tomorrow night in Montreal and a possible long travel night for us since it’s snowing in both Montreal and Buffalo.
