Lightning defenseman Nikita Nesterov has been named to Team Russia for the 2016 World Cup of Hockey to be held in Toronto in September.

He will join Lightning teammates Nikita Kucherov, Vladislav Namestnikov and Andrei Vasilevskiy on Team Russia.

Nesterov played in 57 games with the Lightning last season, recording three goals and nine points to go along with 41 penalty minutes. He set career-highs for games played, goals, assists and points during the 2015-16 campaign after playing in 27 games with the Bolts in 2014-15.

The World Cup runs Sept. 17 to Oct. 1, with all games played at Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Games will be televised on ESPN in the United States and Sportsnet and TVA Sports in Canada.
