The Tampa Bay Lightning will host a special holiday-themed watch party for the first road contest of their back-to-back set against the New York Islanders at Tampa’s Downtown on Ice at Curtis Hixon Park on Wednesday, December 22 from 4 p.m. until the conclusion of the game.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at the park three hours prior to puck drop to enjoy a number of pregame activities including inflatable games, live music, arts and crafts and more. There will also be a chance to win great prizes including a Steven Stamkos autographed puck and a Lightning team-signed stick, as well as three sticks individually signed by NHL All-Star Game ballot representatives Stamkos, Martin St. Louis and Vincent Lecavalier. Great deals on tickets and merchandise specials will be offered as last-minute stocking stuffers throughout the night.
Several Christmas classics will be shown on the big screen and all in attendance will have an opportunity to meet Santa Claus from 6-7 p.m., as well as participate in a question and answer session with former Lightning captain and 2004 Stanley Cup champion Dave Andreychuk. The Lightning Girls will also be present to skate with fans on the outdoor ice rink located inside the park for just $10, including the price of skates.
Television play-by-play commentator Rick Peckham and color analyst Bobby “the Chief” Taylor will provide all the action from Long Island beginning at 7 p.m. on Sun Sports, while the voice of Lightning Radio, Dave Mishkin, will deliver the call on flagship station AM 620 WDAE.
