TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning, along with the Lightning Foundation, will be teaming up with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay on Friday, October 5 to help enhance their campus from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Crisis Center is located at 14901 Crisis Center Plaza in Tampa off West Bearss Ave.
Among the activities that Lightning employees will be carrying out include cleaning waiting areas, decorating recovery areas in festive Halloween décor, organizing facilities and performing landscaping duties on the Crisis Center grounds. The initiative on Friday is a continuation of a quarterly commitment between Jabil and the Lightning to assist the Crisis Center.
The Lightning are committed to leading by example and inspiring others to give in all sorts of ways. They contributed through the Community Heroes program, as well as the C.H.A.R.G.E. volunteer program, $2.5 million in cash awards and more than 4,000 volunteer hours, respectively, during the 2011-12 season. In addition to continuing the Community Hero and C.H.A.R.G.E. programs for the 2012-13 season, the Lightning are also excited to celebrate and create awareness of Tampa Bay’s art community through this exciting, local art showcase.
The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay brings help, hope and healing to people facing serious life challenges or trauma resulting from sexual assault or abuse, domestic violence, financial distress, substance abuse, medical emergency, suicidal thoughts, emotional or situational problems.
