Meet and get to know one of the new faces to join the Lightning this summer, defenseman Kurtis Foster, as he answers 10 random questions in "The Lightning Round".
Lightning Round: You played your junior hockey for the Peterborough Petes of the OHL. What exactly is a Pete?
Kurtis Foster: You know what, that is a question that everyone has wondered and I don’t think anybody knows.
LR: If you could be in any band, present or past, which one would it be? Which instrument would you play?
KF: I would say Pearl Jam. I would play drums.
LR: Book or movie? What is your favorite?
KF They’re about even. I read before I go to bed every night, but I definitely like movies too. My favorite book growing up was a book by Scott Young named A Boy at the Leafs’ Camp. That’s what I read when I was younger. Now I would say one of the Lance Armstrong books, probably the first one. Movies are tough. I would say the funniest movie I’ve ever seen, and still abide by it all the time, is Old School.
LR: You're a big pizza fan. What is your favorite type?
Pepperoni, bacon and chicken. Lots of meat.
LR: Who is your favorite Seinfeld character and why?
KF: My favorite character, by far, is George because it is just funny to laugh at him all the time.
LR: If you could drop everything right now and go somewhere, where would you go?
KF: I would go and play baseball for the New York Yankees.
LR: You scored two goals in your first game with the Wild. Can we expect the same with the Lightning?
KF: (Laughing) As long as Marty and Vinny make good passes, yes.
LR: What is something fans may not know about you?
KF: Any time they want to introduce themselves or chat about hockey just come up to me and let me know. I love talking hockey and being part of the community.
LR: What is the coolest, most amazing thing you’ve ever seen in hockey?
KF: When Marian Gaborik scored five goals against the New York Rangers.
LR: What is the first thing you want to do when you get to Tampa?
