Lightning Radio Network Ready to Return to Airways

For the 13th consecutive season, the Lightning Radio Network will air each of the Lightning’s 82 regular season games on 620 WDAE, with select broadcasts on 1250 WHNZ beginning with Saturday’s 2010-11 season opener against the Atlanta Thrashers (7:30 p.m., 1250 WHNZ, Sun Sports).

The voice of Lightning Radio, Dave Mishkin, returns for his eighth season as play-by-play announcer, while Lightning founder and Hockey Hall-of-Famer Phil Esposito comes back for his 10th season as color analyst for all home games and the star of “7 with 7” during the second intermission of each home game. Matt Sammon will handle the pre-game duties as well as broadcast the intermission and post-game reports for a fifth consecutive season.

The Lightning Radio Network also brings back the popular “Lightning Hockey Hotline” with Matt Sammon and Bobby “the Chief” Taylor following all home games at Trolley’s American Cafe located inside the Embassy Suites Downtown. On Wednesday nights when the Lightning aren’t on the ice, Lightning Hockey Night, presented by Grow Financial Federal Credit Union, will air at 7 p.m. on 620 WDAE.

The Lightning Radio Network reaches more than 4.9 million people across the state of Florida, and worldwide on Outside of Tampa Bay, the Lightning Radio Network brings Lightning hockey to eight other markets including Dade City (1350 WDCF-AM), Daytona Beach (1380 WELE-AM), Englewood (1530 WENG-AM/107.5 FM), Brooksville (1450 WWJB-AM), Port St. Lucie (1450 WSTU-AM/1590 WPSL-AM), Sebring (1390 WFHT-AM), Sarasota (1220 WSRQ-AM/106.9 FM) and Fort Myers (770 WWCN-AM).
