TAMPA BAY –The Tampa Bay Lightning is partnering with Metropolitan Ministries twice this month to host non-perishable food drives at Amalie Arena on Ford Thunder Alley prior to their home games on November 13 vs. San Jose and November 22 vs. Minnesota. This collection will make a big impact for families in need and offer fans the experience of shared joy through giving.
Along with Metropolitan Ministries staff and volunteers, families of Lightning players will be accepting donations of non-perishable food items on Ford Thunder Alley starting at 6 p.m. prior to Thursday’s game against the San Jose Sharks and at 5:30 p.m. prior to next Saturday’s match against the Minnesota Wild. For every 10 food items donated, the donor will receive a ticket voucher, with a max up to 4 per person, redeemable for either of the Lightning home match-ups on December 4, 9 and the 11.
Metropolitan Ministries, a faith-based and community supported non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is funded through the charitable support of the community, including individuals, businesses, congregations, schools, foundations and civic groups, serving the needs of poor and homeless families in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco and Polk Counties.
