The Lightning Conference announced the rosters for the first-ever Lightning Conference All-Star Game that will take place on February 13, 2013 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum at 5:45 p.m. The players will be divided into two teams, Team Andreychuk and Team Bradley, with Tampa Bay Lightning greats Brian Bradley and Dave Andreychuk coaching their respective team.
The Lightning Conference is compiled of 18 teams in the Tampa Bay area and each team will be represented by two skaters at the All-Star game. The coaches from each Lightning Conference team selected two skaters from their respective team. Bradley and Andreychuk picked three goaltenders each from the conference to make up a 21-player roster for both teams. To be eligible to be selected to the 2013 Lightning Conference All-Star teams players must be in good academic standing with their school and the Lightning Conference.
Following the 2013 Lightning Conference All-Star Game, the Lightning Cup Finals will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the Times Forum ice. The Lightning Conference playoffs will feature the top eight teams from the league battling in a single-elimination tournament that begins on February 8 and ends on February 13 at the Times Forum. Players who were selected to the all-star roster and make it to the Lightning Cup Finals will not play in the All-Star Game, but will receive their jersey. Players who miss the All-Star Game due to playing in the finals will not be replaced on the rosters.
