TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning is partnering with the United States Marine Corps Reserve twice this month at Amalie Arena to host drives for the Toys for Tots program on Ford Thunder Alley prior to Bolts home games on December 6 vs. Columbus and December 9 vs. Washington. This collection will give fans the opportunity to share in the season of giving with the Lightning and bring smiles to the faces of children who are less fortunate.
Along with members of the United States Marine Corps Reserve, family members of the Tampa Bay Lightning will be accepting donations of new toys on Ford Thunder Alley at 5 p.m. through game time prior to both Saturday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets and next Tuesday’s games against the Washington Capitals. There will be a Toys for Tots truck present and donation boxes will also be located on Ford Thunder Alley. Fans who generously participate will receive one ticket voucher per one new toy donated (max of four vouchers per person) for an upcoming Lightning game on January 9, January 15 or January 20.
The Toys for Tots Foundation, a community supported non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, seeks to unite local communities across the United States for three months each year through the Toy for Tots program in collecting and distributing toys to less fortunate children during Christmas as a means to share a message of hope that will help contribute to better communities in the future.
