by Staff Writer / Tampa Bay Lightning

TAMPA BAY – The Tampa Bay Lightning have acquired a conditional draft pick at the 2009 NHL Entry Draft from the Nashville Predators in exchange for center Nick Tarnasky, executive vice president of hockey operations Brian Lawton announced today.

Tarnasky, a 6-foot-2, 224-pound native of Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, was injured during Tampa Bay’s training camp and did not play in the exhibition season.  He played in 80 games with the Lightning last season, recording six goals and 10 points. Tarnasky scored one goal on the power play and one game-winner.

The 23-year-old has played in 169 career games, all with Tampa Bay. He has amassed 11 goals and 20 points in three seasons with the Lightning.
