The season gets underway Friday and the Lightning are gearing up for another incredible year here at the newly renovated St. Pete Times Forum. Luckily, fans won’t have to wait until the home opener Night on Monday, October 17 to get a glimpse of the team, as the Bolts have plenty of activities on the docket this week to get the season started off right.
Lightning fans can stop by the Brick House Tavern + Tap on North Dale Mabry Highway for a watch party on Friday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m.
The Bolts will face the Carolina Hurricanes in the first regular season game of the year. Come to the Brick House and cheer on the team with other Lightning fans, enter-to-win exclusive prizes, receive food and drink specials and more!
Round out your week on Saturday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. at the Tampa Convention Center when the outrageous human-powered flying competition known as Red Bull Flutag once again soars over Tampa. A team of Tampa Bay Lightning staff members will pilot their homemade flying machine off a 30-foot high deck in hopes of achieving flight! Hangars open at 11:00 a.m., so stop by early to see each team’s flying contraptions while you can. Teams are judged not only on their flight's distance, but creativity and showmanship, as well.
"Vote the Tampa Bay Lightning as "fan favorite" via texting! Voting opens today (Friday, October 7) at 1 p.m. EDT and closes at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 8. Each phone is limited to 5 votes total. To vote, text flugtag27 to 72855."
