ESTERO, FL – The Florida Everblades announced Tuesday that goaltender Allen York has been named theCCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for October 17 -- November 2.
York posted a 2-0-0 record with one shutout, a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .962 in two appearances last week.
The 25-year old made 27 saves in a 4-2 victory at Orlando on Friday and then stopped all 24 shots faced in a 3-0 win over the Solar Bear on Saturday.
York has appeared in five games with the Everblades this season earning a 3-1-1 record with one shutout, a 1.96 goals-against average and a save percentage of .917.
Last season, he logged a 4-4-2 record with a 2.65 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage in 12 AHL appearances last season split between stints with the Charlotte Checkers, Rockford IceHogs, Texas Stars, and Syracuse Crunch. In addition, the 6-3, 194-pound netminder earned an 11-17-0-1 record, with a 2.87 goals against average and a .903 save percentage in 20 games played last season in the ECHL while playing for the South Carolina Stingrays and the Evansville Icemen.
The Wetaskiwin, Alberta native made 11 National Hockey League games with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2010-11 season netting a 3-2 record, 2.30 goals against average, and a .919 save percentage.
York was selected by Columbus in the sixth round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
From 2008-2011, York played three seasons at R.P.I. where he posted a career record of 37-34-8.
The Everblades will hit the road this weekend to face the South Carolina Stingrays at the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday November 7, at 7:30 p.m.
