Vote: #NHL15Doughty
by The Royal Half / Los Angeles KingsA fierce battle is being waged as the NHL Playoffs continue. No, I'm not talking about Kings-Blackhawks or Rangers-Canadiens... I'm talking about something WAY more important than that!
The EA Sports NHL 15 Cover Vote!!!
Our own Drew Doughty has advanced to the Semi-Finals after easily beating Logan Couture (again). And this time Doughty is matched up against fellow superstar defenseman P.K. Subban. It's super easy to vote for Doughty against Subban. All you have to do is Tweet #NHL15Doughty before 11:59pm on May 25th and Drew will get a vote! That way you can avoid doing something really stupid... like promising to follow every person who re-tweet's something you said. Man, that would be lame!
Today only! Everyone who RT's this we'll follow. Do it. #NHL15Doughty pic.twitter.com/I7dGgYz3Kw
— #NHL15DOUGHTY (@LAKings) May 22, 2014 @LAKings haven't been followed
— matt parent (@mattparent09) May 22, 2014 @mattparent09 you know how long it takes to follow 5,000 people?!
— #NHL15DOUGHTY (@LAKings) May 22, 2014 @LAKings fair enough. Good luck
— matt parent (@mattparent09) May 22, 2014 So we here at The Royal Half have put together a simple EA Sports NHL 15 Cover Voters Guide to help undecided voters cast their votes for Drew Doughty. Presenting...
8 REASONS TO VOTE DREW DOUGHTY FOR THE COVER OF NHL 15!!!
It just makes sense.
8. RESPECT FOR THE GAMEI mean, all you have to do is look at the official EA Sports NHL 15 Cover Vote website to see the difference between these two players.

P.K. Subban has a smirk on his face while Drew Doughty has the serious stare of a committed hockey player. Doughty should be on the cover of NHL 15 solely based on how serious he takes the game of hockey. You'll never see Doughty smiling during the intense moments of battle within a hockey game.
ADVANTAGE: DOUGHTY
7. MODEL GOOD LOOKS
When it came time for Hudson's Bay, the Official Outfitter of the 2014 Canadian Olympic Team, to showcase their latest designs.... whose door do you think they came knocking on?
Yeah, right.
Well, hello there.
Doughty, so hot right now. Doughty.
Don't forget... this vote is about being on a cover. And you want someone who has the confidence in being a Cover Boy.

ADVANTAGE: DOUGHTY
6. NATIVE LANGUAGE OF HEAD COACH
P.K. Subban's Head Coach, Michel Therrien, speaks with such a thick accent that you can barely understand what he is saying.
While Drew Doughty's Head Coach, Darryl Sutter, speaks with... hmm... well.... this is awkward.
Ok, maybe you should vote for Subban on this one.
ADVANTAGE: SUBBAN
5. TEAM TWITTER ACCOUNTS
Both the LA Kings and the Montreal Canadiens have launched massive social media campaigns to get their fans to vote for their respective star defensemen. So to increase the votes, the LA Kings decided to get the fans of arguably the most popular team in the NHL to throw their support behind Drew Doughty.
Hey @MapleLeafs nation, are you really going to let a Hab get the @EASPORTSNHL cover?! Vote #NHL15Doughty! #TMLtalk pic.twitter.com/5RxGKGmBqX
— #NHL15DOUGHTY (@LAKings) May 22, 2014 While the Montreal Canadiens decided to enlist help from the fans of the team that has the 21st Overall Attendance in the NHL.
Counting on all @AnaheimDucks fans! Want to get back at the Kings and Drew Doughty? Spread the word: #NHL15Subban! #NHLDucks ^ER
— Canadiens Montréal (@CanadiensMTL) May 22, 2014 ADVANTAGE: HAHAHAHAHA I CAN'T BELIEVE THE CANADIENS ACTUALLY ASKED DUCKS FANS TO HELP
4. FAN RELATIONS
Sure, P.K. Subban might have angered a lot of people in Boston with his comments before Game 7...
P.K. Subban, on Game 7: “I can’t wait for the crowd, the noise, the energy in the building. I can’t wait to take that all away from them.”
— Chris Johnston (@reporterchris) May 13, 2014 But Drew Doughty single-handedly called out several cities across the United States with his blunt assesment of what is the worst chant in all of pro sports:
Doughty, on "Beat LA" chants: “It’s whatever. I don’t know. I don’t think it’s the best chant I've ever heard...it’s not even a good chant.”
— Jon Rosen (@lakingsinsider) April 29, 2014 ADVANTAGE: DOUGHTY
3. TEAMMATE SUPPORT
I'm not saying that P.K. Subban's teammates have shown up less in the playoffs than Joe Thornton...
To all my #subbaniacs, I'll give away a signed jersey if this Tweet gets 10K retweets. #NHL15Subban mmmmmmhmmmm!
— P.K. Subban (@PKSubban1) May 23, 2014 @mikeweaver_43 give away a jersey and you'll get more followers too! #GoHabsGo #DreamWeaver #NHL15Subban
— Lynn (Blake) Burns (@Wolves21fan) May 23, 2014 “@Wolves21fan: @mikeweaver_43 give away a jersey and you'll get more followers” Don't want people to follow me cause I gave away a jersey
— Mike Weaver (@mikeweaver_43) May 23, 2014 Ouch.
Meanwhile, Drew Doughty's teammates have been more than supportive of his quest to be on the NHL 15 Cover.
.RT @LAKings: It's double vote day for #NHL15Doughty! Every RT is 2 votes! pic.twitter.com/g0qgVndvuj
— Jarret Stoll (@jarretstoll) May 22, 2014 It's double vote day for #NHL15Doughty! Retweet this to get @dewyy8 on the cover of @NHL15Vote
— Michael Richards (@MRichie_10) May 22, 2014 Lets get this mug on the cover... #NHL15Doughty pic.twitter.com/4Sl5MvUgji
— Anze Kopitar (@AnzeKopitar) May 22, 2014 Let's put this vote to bed! #NHL15Doughty RT to put him on cover of @EASPORTSNHL #HundofromLondo pic.twitter.com/2TT3YAx6Lm
— Willie Mitchell (@Willie_Mitch33) May 23, 2014 Now, those are supportive teammates! Except maybe Willie Mitchell.
ADVANTAGE: DOUGHTY
2. NORRIS TROPHIES
Sure, P.K. Subban won the Norris Trophy... but he won it during a shortened NHL season in which he only played 42 games.
Whereas Drew Doughty was nominated for the Norris Trophy during the 2009-10 NHL Season... a season in which Doughty played A FULL 82 GAMES. Sure, Doughty didn't win... but his achievement still outweighs Subban's. We are just sad that Drew Doughty couldn't be the 2nd ever LA Kings player to win the Norris Trophy.
ADVANTAGE: DOUGHTY
1. WINNING
At the end of the day... everyone knows that the EA Sports NHL 15 Cover is a place for winners. And with 2 Gold Medals and 1 Stanley Cup... Drew Doughty has done nothing but win during his NHL career.
ADVANTAGE: DOUGHTY
So make sure you Tweet out #NHL15Doughty as much as you can before 11:59pm this Sunday! Or go here to vote as well. LA Kings fans... we are counting on you.
