Sure, everyone is talking about the Los Angeles Kings defense right now. And I know it's only been 1 game so far, but I think I might have an idea exactly what the LA Kings defensemen are missing...

A Nickname for Their Top Defensive Pair!!!

Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman James Wisniewski and former LA King, Jack Johnson, are calling themselves "Controlled Chaos" this season and have even released a downloadable desktop image for your computer. Well... the LA Kings have some of the best defensemen in the NHL... so I'm sure we can think of something even better, right? RIGHT?!?

Drew Doughty & Rob Scuderi are.... METHODICAL MAYHEM!!!
(Click Here for a Full-Rez Version)

But let's not talk about the LA Kings defenseman issues... instead, let's focus on the good times, like the best screengrabs from the NBC Telecast of the Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup Banner Raising Ceremony!!!

Dustin Brown can't hear you with his Stanley Cup ring stuffed in his nostrils.

You gotta admire the guy who is crafty enough to get his new Facebook profile photo
while the Stanley Cup is being marched down to the ice.

This is what yesterday's Inauguration would have looked like if LA Kings fans
would finally get together and vote Bob Miller for President.

That better be an original early 90s LA Kings sweater and not purchased at Urban Outfitters last week.

Now I understand why Coach Sutter hired Davis Payne over the summer...
so he could be the Good Cop to Sutter's Bad Cop.

LA Kings Banner Raising Ceremony
Edmonton Oilers 1991-92 Legends Night?

Three Wise Men.

Three Awesome Men.

Never change, NBC. Never change. Ever.
You too, NESN.

By holding a ring with 104 diamonds in it... this is officially the least
expensive piece of jewelry Nancy Anschutz has ever worn.

Dean Lombardi hasn't stopped staring at Drew Doughty
like this since the end of their negotiations last fall.

Hey Jarret Stoll... get your hands off her... she's the bosses wife!

Oh... this is awkward.

The best part of the LA Kings Stanley Cup Banner Raising Ceremony was that hockey fans across the country got to listen in and see the celebration. And for all those fans in Philadelphia that were waiting for the Flyers-Penguins game to start... I'm sure it wasn't a distraction at all.

At least the game wasn't being broadcast in Edmonton.

Who are 5 players that weren't on the Kings in 2007, Alex?

Finally, it was time to raise the banner with most of North America (well, LA and Canada) watching. And there was only one thing stopping the banner from being lifted into the rafters.

Aaron from KingsVision taking forever to put his camera on the banner.

Nailed that corporate sponsorship placement, fellas.

But the biggest surprise to come out of NBC's Telecast of the LA Kings-Blackhawks game this past Saturday is that the LA Kings are heavily featured in a brand new ad for NHL Gamecenter.

Ok, that is Matt Greene and Jon Quick... put who are the two other guys?
And what professional hockey player puts on all his gear before his skates? Seriously!

For some reason, Jon Quick is out of focus the entire commercial.

Just like the rest of the country, Matt Greene is forced to watch the Penguins and Capitals.

Ugh, I'm just so sick and tired of Hollywood casting people who look nothing like their real-life counterparts.
There is no way this guy could be the Head Coach of the LA Kings.

Is it me or is Jarret Stoll staring in the latest Wes Anderson movie?

All in all... it was an amazing day at Staples Center. I just wish there was some way to visually represent how I felt watching my favorite hockey team in the world lift its 1st ever Stanley Cup Championship Banner to the rafters.

Nailed it.
