PREVIEW: Preseason Homecoming

by Alex Kinkopf / Los Angeles Kings

SECOND GO:
Tonight marks the Kings’ second of six preseason games this year; they’re coming off of a 5-1 victory over the Arizona Coyotes Monday night at the Rabobank Arena in Bakersfield, CA. The Kings got goals from Tyler Toffoli (2), Nick Shore (2), and Jordan Weal in the win; Jean-Francois Berube stopped all 12 shots he faced in getting the start, and Patrik Bartosak stopped 12 of the 13 he faced in relief.

FIG/11TH: The Kings return home to STAPLES Center for the first time since the 2014-’15 regular season finale on April 11, 2015, when they defeated the San Jose Sharks in a 4-1 win. Along with tonight’s contest, the Kings will also play an exhibition at STAPLES Center on September 29 against the Anaheim Ducks. The Kings went 2-0-0 in preseason contests at STAPLES Center last season, winning both games in a shootout.

TONIGHT’S ROSTER: Via Jon Rosen, who attended the Kings’ morning skate at the Toyota Sports Center, here’s how tonight’s roster should shake up:

KING – LEWIS – BROWN
ANDREOFF – WEAL – O’NEILL
AUGER – SHORE – MERSCH

MUZZIN – DOUGHTY
MARTINEZ – EHRHOFF
FORBORT – MACDERMID
