(Re game recap): “The start was good…we were not able to get things done on the penalty kill tonight and then they end up scoring a couple of goals on five-on-five I’d sure like to see re-done again.”

“We seem to sabotage ourselves a little bit with our play and taking some penalties.  It’s been going on for the last two or three games now.  We’re not able to get the penalty killing going the way we had it going, and it’s costing us games now.”

(Re recent slide): “It’s a big concern that we’ve lost five and we’ve given up 23 goals against in five games after playing probably our two best games of the year so far, playing against Anaheim at home, going up to San Jose and winning.  And then from that point we haven’t been able to get the job done.”

(Re changing lines): “Changing lines is sometimes a matter of getting some attention to everybody; a certain game you want to get a particular match-up.  In my case for changing lines here: yes, we lost four straight, we’re looking for something different to happen on some chemistry, to start to get some secondary scoring and it didn’t work here tonight for sure.”

(Re game recap): “We’re not competing, we’re not doing those little things and our work ethic is low so that’s going to be the result. With exception of the San Jose game, there hasn’t been a good effort.”

“We’re not working or competing hard enough. It’s not easy to win games in this league. You’re not going to win consistently if you’re not putting the work in.”

“Home games are important. We have a good record at home. Those last games we’ve kind of let go. There’s no rhyme or reason. We need to be better, that’s the bottom line I think. We need to have a road mentality at home.”

(Re game recap): “We weren’t doing the little things. We weren’t going hard in the offensive and defensive zone. In the last five games we’ve let in too many goals against. It’s definitely something we need to correct. It’s [not fun] losing that many in a row but we can’t be feeling sorry for ourselves, we need to get right back into it and the next game is a must win.”

“It obviously [isn’t fun] to be booed by our own fans. They’re so supportive when we’re winning but obviously they can be critics at the same time. They pay to see us play every night so we’re going to make sure that doesn’t happen again.”

“There’s no way we can’t win the rest of the homestand. It’s so important to win these ones at home because we go on the road for pretty much the whole month of February. These are really important for us and we’re going to try to figure it out.”

(Re game recap):  “I think getting that goal on that first power play helped. We got it and it was 2-1 and it gave us some light.  I thought after we scored that goal we were really good.  We played last night, we played real hard and today I thought we played with a lot of character.  We wanted to get off to a good start.  They had beaten us in the first 10 minutes in the first two games, they jumped all over us, and had us on a back-to-back at home, and then here they jumped on us real early.  I thought we played a real solid game and they were having a real good run at home.  I didn’t like the way they (Kings) beat us the last two times and the guys were pretty determined to get a win tonight.  I think after back-to-backs and then having some people down a little bit early, everything from injuries to equipment problems, we were sort of piecing it together.  I thought we recovered really well, we showed a lot of character and stayed with the game plan all night.”

(Re game recap):  “We played pretty good.  We got the pucks deep, we got the cycle going and of course we got some lucky goals, two to bounce our way.  We try to always have two guys at the net and it works pretty well.  We got some goals and everybody has good confidence and you can see it out there.”

(Re being in front of the net): “That’s hard to say.  I always try to be in front and sometimes you get a little lucky in there.  It’s one of those times it felt like all the pucks were going to my stick, and I like it.  I’m going to keep going there and hopefully score some more goals.”

(Re game recap): “It was a huge game for us and I think that the team came out strong today and we deserve those two points.  I think the key was that we stuck to our game plan.  We keep fore-checking like we wanted at the beginning of the game and it paid off in the end.  Our power play was great tonight and also the penalty kills were a great team effort and it was a huge win for our team.”

(Re Collin Wilson): “He made some great plays on the power play and the five-on-five.  He’s red hot right now and every team needs a player like that.  Hopefully he can continue and scoring more goals for us.”
