(Re game recap):  “I thought we played hard…To be quite honest in the second period we stopped shooting…We just stopped shooting the puck in the second…We started to make that little play across the net, those sort of things in the second period, instead of putting it to the net and getting to the net. I like the percentages better when the goalie has to make the save...We’re just trying to battle and get everybody to play hard.”
(Re waived off goal in first): “We don’t disagree with the way we handled that, right? I think every puck that goes in the net, unless the whistle went, should be called a goal…because of what we have in Toronto, [and] then make the rule from there. You look at what we talked about in goal scoring and offense, and all those things, every puck that goes in the net, unless there’s a whistle or an act of blowing the whistle should be called a goal and then they can overrule it. To me it makes more sense that way…It shouldn’t be the call on the ice stands, it should be the other way.”
(Re power play): “I wish I knew right now.  We have to keep working on it and keep practicing and then we’re going to break through.  That’s our mindset right now and we’ve got to keep on pushing for that.”
(Re puck possession): “We’ve done that for the most part since Darryl [Sutter] got here because he really encourages that, holding on to pucks and everything.  We had a few good shifts.  We had scoring chances.  We had a bunch of two on one’s and I had a chance in overtime and I don’t know why I didn’t shoot it.  I should have put it on net and something would happen out there.  The chances are there we just have to bare down on them.”
(Re Brown, Richards, Kopitar line): “All three of them are good hockey players.  Sometimes guys don’t mix as far as chemistry goes, but all three of those guys are just what I would call good hockey players.  They move the space, they work well together, and they understand the offensive zone and where we should always have a guy.  I’m not surprised they connected for a nice goal.”
(Re upcoming games): “We’ve got a lot of conference games here coming up.  If we want to climb the standings, which we do, then we’ve got to get these points all the way up to the All-Star break.  I don’t remember how many conference games it is but it’s a heavy, heavy amount.  If we want to climb the standings and set ourselves up well after the All-Star break then we’ve got to pile up some wins.”
(Re game recap): “We have some confidence if we do good in shootouts. We have some guys who really know what to do with the puck and when you feel good about yourself and those situations you can build that confidence. It’s a big win tonight. Obviously it’s another conference win against a team that we’re fighting with in points. It’s a good game. Our goaltender was solid all night long. Varly (Varlamov) played really well, gave us a good chance to win tonight. After that first goal that they got we started to get our legs and started playing more. Good result tonight for our team.”
(Re Colorado’s goaltending): “Both goaltenders were solid. All we ask of our goalies is to give us a chance to compete and a chance to win every night and they’ve definitely been doing that. You need goaltending in this league. We have certainly got our fair share from our guys and they continue to play well for us. I like our whole game though. Tonight was a tough game for us.”

(Re game recap): “We had a tough start. They were all over us but we came back. It was a hard battle to the end. I felt like in the second and third periods we started rolling (our lines) better. We spent more time in their zone creating some scoring chances there and finally put one in there with five minutes left.”
(Re never giving up): “This year we won so many tight games and we are pretty comfortable in this position, being down a goal. We still battled and knew it was a one goal game and we kept coming. (Varlamov) gave us big saves when we needed them and finally we scored one goal and won in a shootout.”
(Re shootout goal): “I just tried to skate fast and slow down a little bit so he’s deeper in his net and look for what was going to be open.”
(Re game recap): “We played much better in the third period. Got some moments and we scored so it’s really good. ”
(Re success in shootout): “Nothing special. I don’t know, maybe just good luck. I don’t like shootouts.”
(Re team defense): “Defensively we played very well today. I saw every shot. The defense is doing a great job playing rebounds.”
