KINGS HEAD COACH TERRY MURRAY:
(Re: Ersberg’s game)
“I liked his game a lot. Having not played in several weeks here, he showed a lot of composure; he was very calm, under control and made some very big stops. It does earn him another start, whenever that start will be. It wasn’t like I was going to play LaBarbera 82 games anyway. It was a matter of time and he took advantage of his opportunity here.”

(Re: game recap)

“It comes down to the special teams again. I thought we played very well against that hockey club five-on-five, but the special team part of the game right now is coming back at us. Our power play needs to get something going.”

(Re: goaltenders)

“LaBarbera is our number one guy. There was no doubt that Ersberg was going to get a game, and he played well in this game tonight. Our plan at the start of the year was to play both goalies and that’s the way it is still going to play out.”

KINGS GOALTENDER ERIK ERSBERG:

(Re: his performance):
“I think I played pretty well, we got one point, I guess that’s good. After the game you’re just upset because you lost. Hopefully next time we can get two points. It’s my first start and it’s really fun to be out there on the ice and get some shots. I guess it’s a good game to build on. Before we didn’t get any points and now at least we got one point, hopefully we can get two next time”.

(Re: whether he saw last shot):
“There was a screen on the pass and well – I heard it. It was a good shot. I’m just trying to see the puck and I couldn’t really see who was screening me. It was four-on-three, so it happens sometimes”.

(Re: playing next game):
“I don’t know it’s totally up to the coach. Obviously I want to play the next game. It’s not my decision.”

DUCKS HEAD COACH RANDY CARLYLE:

(Re: Performance by Goalies)
“Anytime you go nothing to nothing after 60 minutes both goalies have made critical saves at critical times for their hockey club. Again those are things that you look for. Giguere has been the backbone of our success for a while here and he had another performance here tonight.”

(Re: Condition of ice):
“There were some situations where the puck was going along and then it was three feet off the ice and off the boards. But that’s the way it is and our building is no different some nights, but I think tonight was abnormal in how many times the puck bounced around for both teams.”

DUCKS GOALIE JEAN-SEBASTIAN GIGUERE:
(Re: game recap)
“I think they played well for a young team and they have a lot of energy. [Ersberg] played pretty well for his first start of the season. It’s a tough game for them to lose, but we don’t really care about them we care about us and we try to win some games. On the road it might not be perfect, but the important thing is we got two points.”

(Re: Playing the Kings)
“Every time we played the Kings so far in either exhibition or regular season, they’ve given us a run for our money. They throw everything at the net and create a lot of scoring chances.” Post Game Quotes Compiled By: Jason Barquero, Grace Coryell and Cory Popovich
