The fourth annual Holiday Tree Lighting at L.A. LIVE and grand opening of the LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE. Celebrities, television and film stars and other performers will be part of a one-hour live, televised holiday celebration to “officially” launch Los Angeles’ holiday season. The Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony will also kick off Season of Giving - AEG's annual holiday charitable program that will provide fundraising and awareness opportunities for charities, youth organizations, Foundations, schools and non-profit organizations in the Los Angeles area. Throughout the month of December, a different charity or non-profit organization will be honored at the skating rink each night as part of AEG's Season of Giving initiative. In the last two years, over $10 million has been raised during AEG’s Season of Giving.
The centerpiece of Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE will be a 54-foot LED holiday tree with over 10,000 lights and designed by Brian Stonestreet, a Primetime Emmy Award winner for production design. The evening will also mark the season's first complete lighting of the festive holiday lights displayed along the streets throughout the L.A. LIVE district which is sure to sparkle during the holiday season with over 75,000 festive holiday lights along the streets that adorn 50 ten-foot angels along with over 265,000 snowfall LED lights covering 150 trees.
The LA Kings Holiday Ice presented by Coca Cola - the 80' x 80' outdoor ice skating rink located within Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE - is nearly twice as big as in the past and is the perfect holiday outing!
