Kings To Open Playoff Action At STAPLES Center Tomorrow Night

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings will host Game Three of their first-round series against Vancouver tomorrow, Sunday, at STAPLES Center with game-time set for 7:30 p.m. as the Kings look to take a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series against the Canucks.

The Kings encourage all fans to arrive to the arena early to enjoy all the pre-game festivities as the club kicks-off  the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs at home – including a special in-arena show set to begin at 7:15 p.m.  

Before the game, the Kings will host a Fan Fest outside STAPLES Center (Star Plaza, on the street and in the L.A. LIVE Plaza) featuring a hockey rink, interactive games, a DJ, the Bud Light Beer Garden, the Coke Zero Lounge and more.  The Fan Fest begins at 5 p.m. and many more Kings partners – including Lemonheads, the San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino Promotional Vehicle and Street Team, Rocco’s Old School Products and Verizon – will be featured as part of the pre-game enjoyment.  

VIP Doors in the arena open at 5:30 p.m. and all doors open at 6 p.m.  Rally Towels presented by Men in Black 3 will be given to all fans as they enter.  The puck is slated to be dropped at 7:40 p.m.  

The Kings for the third straight season are holding a “Beard-A-Thon” during the postseason where fans are encouraged to grow their own Playoff Beard and help raise money for the Kings Care Foundation.  For more information, or to enroll in the Kings Beard-A-thon, visit  Fans tomorrow can sign up for the Beard-A-Thon at the Kings Care Booth (section 103 of the main concourse) throughout the game. The first 20 people to sign up at the booth will receive a Kyle Clifford autographed player card.  Last season, the Kings finished second in money raised during the first round among all NHL clubs.

At Team LA at STAPLES Center, “beards” will be sold to fans of all ages as the public joins in on the fun.

The Kings Care Foundation has also partnered with Children’s Hospital Los Angeles to raise awareness during these playoffs of the need for platelets.  Donate your platelets at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles between April 16-20 and be entered to win two playoff tickets or lunch with All-Star goalie Jonathan Quick.  Visit to learn more.

Game Three will be televised on FS West with coverage beginning at 7 p.m. with a special playoff edition of the 30-minute pre-game show Kings Live.  The game will be broadcast on the radio on KTLK 1150 followed by the popular call-in show Kings Talk.  TV coverage will also feature a post-game show.

Round 1 is presented by Columbia Pictures’ Men in Black 3, in theaters May 25, 2012, with Game 4 set to take place on Wednesday at STAPLES Center at 7 p.m.
