Kings to Honor Luc Dec. 5

The Kings will honor Luc Robitaille on Dec. 5 and 6 at STAPLES Center and Club Nokia at LA Live.

LOS ANGELES - Luc Robitaille - who will be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on Nov. 9 in Toronto - will be honored by the Kings on Dec. 5 at STAPLES Center as part of the Kings-St. Louis game at 1 p.m. and by Echoes of Hope on Dec. 6 at Club Nokia at LA Live with a special Hall of Fame Dinner Gala that begins at 4 p.m.

The Kings will also give away a special commemorative Luc Robitaille/Hockey Hall of Fame bobblehead, presented by San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino, to all fans at the Dec. 5 game.

All proceeds from the Hall of Fame Gala on Dec. 6 will benefit Echoes of Hope – a charity founded by Stacia and Luc Robitaille which strives to awaken the spirit of hope in the lives of deserving at-risk and emancipated foster youth by providing the resources, knowledge, skills, love and support they need to reach their full potential.

Fans are invited to participate in the Hall of Fame Dinner Gala – which is presented by AEG. The special event begins with a Cocktail Reception from 4 – 5 p.m. Dinner service begins at 5:30 p.m. and a special Luc Robitaille Hall of Fame Show – which will feature special A-list musical performances and celebrity guest speakers -- will take place from 7 – 9 p.m.

Co-chairs of the event are Magic Johnson, Jerry Bruckheimer and David “Doc” O’Connor.

All show-only tickets will be available starting on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster.

Robitaille was selected for the Hockey Hall of Fame on June 23 and will be honored by the Kings on Dec. 5 before the Kings-St. Louis game during an on-ice ceremony and throughout the game. The highest scoring left wing in NHL history and the Kings’ all-time leader in goals scored, Robitaille, currently the club’s President of Business Operations, joins former teammates Steve Yzerman, Brett Hull and Brian Leetch, and Lou Lamoriello, as part of the 2009 Induction Class.

The Kings will also give away the special Robitaille/Hockey Hall of Fame bobblehead to all fans at the Dec. 5 game. It is the first time the Kings have given away a bobblehead, and this one will feature Robitaille in the “purple and gold” colors, the uniform he wore when he broke in with the Kings as a rookie in 1986.

Additionally, the Kings for this game are offering the following Group Ticket Special (minimum 20 tickets purchased), which includes one ticket to the Dec. 5 game and one ticket to one of the following Kings home contests: Oct. 22 versus Dallas at 7:30 p.m.; October 25 versus Columbus at 6 p.m. and Oct. 29 versus Vancouver at 7:30 p.m.

The commemorative Robitaille bobblehead comes with each purchased package and the first 500 packages purchased also include a Kings hat autographed by Robitaille. Pricing packages, which include both games, begin at $50.

The Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Nov. 9 will be broadcast live beginning at 4 p.m. (PT) on NHL Network and TSN. It will also re-broadcast as follows: Nov. 9 at 7:30 p.m. PT (TSN2); Nov. 10 at 9:30 a.m. PT (TSN); Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. PT (ESPNC); and on Nov. 13 at three different times (ESPNC).
