by Alex Kinkopf / Los Angeles Kings

COYOTES CALLING: Tonight marks the second of five meetings with the Coyotes this season, the Kings will travel to Arizona’s Gila River Arena for the remaining three match ups. The Coyotes have won two of their last three and are finishing up a two-game road trip tonight, they’re coming off of a 4-3 OT win over the Anaheim Ducks on Monday. The Kings are playing the third of a five-game home stand, they’re coming off of a 4-1 win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

LINEUP: The Kings held a morning skate in preparation for tonight’s game at the Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo … Jonathan Quick left the ice first and is expected to start … Jordan Weal and Christian Ehrhoff remained on the ice for extra work with Matt Greene (IR), those two are projected to be healthy scratches.

LEGENDS NIGHT: The Kings will wear throwback uniforms from the Forum Blue/Gold era when they honor radio broadcaster Nick Nickson at tonight’s game. Nickson, who has been with the Kings since the 1980-’81 season, was a recipient of the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award at the Hockey Hall of Fame on Monday. Each fan at tonight’s game will receive a commemorative lapel pin featuring Nickson.

THE LAST TIME AROUND: These two clubs previously met on October 9, which was the Kings’ second regular season game and the Coyotes’ opener. Arizona took a commanding 4-0 lead before the midway point of the game with two points from Martin Hanzal (2A) and Max Domi (1G, 1A). Tyler Toffoli netted a shorthanded goal in the final minute of the second period, but that’s all the offense the Kings would muster in a 4-1 loss.

MAX’D OUT: Arizona’s Max Domi is second among all NHL rookies in points scored with 13 (7G, 6A), and is tied for the Coyotes’ team-lead with Martin Hanzal (13A). Domi scored his first NHL goal in his first-career game at STAPLES Center on October 9, adding an assist as well. Can the Kings shut down Arizona’s rookie phenom tonight?

WE’RE DOING IT LIVE: Catch the ‘Kings Live’ pregame show at 7:00PM PST on FOX SPORTS WEST, followed with Bob and Jim on the live play-by-play call from STAPLES Center for puck drop just after 7:30.
