LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have recalled forward Kevin Westgarth
from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced Friday.
Westgarth, 25, made his Kings/NHL debut with the Kings earlier this season, recording zero points and zero penalty minutes in two games. The 6-5, 241-pound native of Amherstburg, Ontario, was originally signed by the Kings as a free agent on March 16, 2007, after playing his college hockey at Princeton.
Westgarth began the 2008-09 season with the Monarchs. In 55 games with Manchester, he has eight points (2-6=8) and a team-leading 146 penalty minutes.
