The Kings on Saturday have exercised their option to buy out the remaining year on the contract of goaltender Dan Cloutier.
Cloutier appeared in 33 games with the Kings, posting an 8-18-3 mark, stopping 722-of-855 shots (.844 SV%), with a 3.83 GAA in two seasons with the Kings.
Cloutier was acquired from Vancouver, where he won 30 games three times, for a second-round choice in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft and a conditional selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft on July 5, 2006.
For his career, Cloutier has posted a 139-142-37 mark with a 2.77 GAA and a .899 SV% in 351 games with the NY Rangers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings.
Cloutier was the Rangers first round pick, 26th overall, at the 1994 NHL Entry Draft.
