LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have assigned left wing Scott Parse
to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League (AHL), Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.
Parse, 25, has played in 48 games with the Kings this season – his first in the NHL - and has 21 points (8-13=21) and 20 penalty minutes. The 5-11, 197-pound native of Portage, Mich., has also played in 10 games with the Monarchs this season and has 13 points (3=10=13) and six penalty minutes. The Kings selected Parse in the sixth-round (174th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Kings host the Colorado Avalanche tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. to conclude a two-game homestand. The Olympic Break officially begins following the game.
Tomorrow night’s game will be broadcast on FS West, KTLK AM 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network, and the FS West telecast will also feature a special “Spotlight” piece on Doughty. A special post-game Olympic Send-Off will also air live on FS West.
