Kings Announce Dates for 2010-11 Youth Hockey Skills Competition

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings have announced dates for their 2010-11 Youth Hockey Skills Competition. The Kings Fan Development Department has also announced three other hockey event ticket promotions to take place during the upcoming homestand at STAPLES Center.

Seven local rinks will hold preliminary skills competitions and the top two finalists in each age division from each competition will take part in the Finals at STAPLES Center on Saturday, Jan. 8, during both intermissions of the Kings-Columbus Blue Jackets game.

Goalie competition to be held at STAPLES Center Jan. 8 at 2 p.m.

The top two highest ranking competitors in each age division from each rink will advance to the semi-finals, which take place at STAPLES Center prior to the Kings-Columbus game on Jan. 8. The finals will be held during the first and second intermissions of the game.

Every participant who registers for the Skills Competition will be entered in a raffle for a personalized Kings jersey, four VIP Premier Level Seats and dinner for four in the San Manuel Club at a 2011-12 Kings home game. The Grand prize for each age division overall winner will receive a personalized Kings Jersey, four 100-level tickets to a 2011-12 game, $50 gift certificate to Team LA, free 2011 Kings Camp Registration and four tickets to LA Kings Hockey Fest ’11. Runner-up prizes will receive two 100-level tickets to a 2011-12 Kings home game, $25 gift certificate to Team LA and two tickets to LA Kings Hockey Fest ’11.

Age divisions are as follows: 8-and-under, 10-and-under, 12-and-under, 14-and-under, 16-and-under and 18-and-under. Entry fees are $30 for one 300-level ticket, $60 for one 200-level ticket and $90 for one 100-level ticket. Each participant will receive an official Skills Competition T-Shirt. NOV. 4 VS. TAMPA BAY LIGHTNING (GAME-TIME 7:30 P.M.)
KING FOR AN AFTERNOON

This promotion will give fans an exclusive tour of the Kings locker room at STAPLES Center, as well as an on-ice clinic at STAPLES Center with Kings alumnus/radio commentator Daryl Evans. The locker room tour will take place at 3:30 p.m. and the on-ice clinic will be from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The package will also include one ticket to that night’s Kings-Tampa Bay game. Packages for fans who want tickets in the 100-level will cost $100 for the first ticket and $73 for each additional ticket. Packages for fans who want tickets in the 200-level will cost $60 for the first ticket and $46 for each additional ticket. Spaces are limited to 30 participants. NOV. 11 VS. DALLAS STARS (GAME-TIME 7:30 P.M.)
GOALIE NIGHT (HOSTED BY KINGS ALUMNUS JAMIE STORR)

Fans who purchase this ticket package will be able to participate in a goalie-clinic and chalk talk at STAPLES Center, hosted by former King Jamie Storr, prior to the Kings-Dallas game. The on-ice clinic will take place from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the chalk talk will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. All participants will also be entered into a raffle for Kings prizes. Packages for fans who want tickets in the 200-level will be $65 per participant and $55 for all non-participants. Packages for fans who want to be upgraded to the 100-level will cost $85 per participant and $75 for all non-participants. NOV. 17 VS. COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS (GAME-TIME 7:30 P.M.)
ADULT POST-GAME PICK-UP HOCKEY GAME:

Fans (18-or-older) can purchase two 200-level tickets for $104 and have an opportunity to play in a pick-up hockey game on the STAPLES Center Ice. Additional tickets are $52 apiece. Limited to first 30 skaters and first two goalies. Players are asked to bring both a dark and light jersey. The Kings will host only two pick-up games during the 2010-11 season. The Kings kick-off their five-game homestand tomorrow (Saturday) against the New Jersey Devils at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on FS West, KTLK 1150 and along the Kings Radio Network. There will also be a special pre-game ceremony honoring former Kings captain Mattias Norstrom.

The homestand will also feature the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday Nov. 4, Nashville Predators on Saturday, Nov. 6, Dallas Stars on Thursday, Nov. 11 and New York Islanders on Saturday, Nov. 13.
