“I’m kind of the guy that laces up the skates, goes out there, and once the puck drops, something turns on and I’m just the most competitive guy out there and I don’t want to lose.”
Episode 4 of ‘Black & White’ centers on Kings’ defenseman Drew Doughty, who, after being selected second overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, is in his eighth season with Los Angeles, where he’s won two Stanley Cups and has emerged as one of the team’s primary leaders.
“I think he’s probably one of three of four players, that if you take him off of our team, we’re not the same team,” Captain Dustin Brown said of the Kings’ franchise defenseman.
Doughty is one of the more vocal players on the roster, as heard when camera crews follow him before, during, and after a game earlier this season, as well as a practice.
His value to the team is immeasurable, and now, you can get a look at the effect he has on his peers as we feature him in our newest episode of Black & White!
