LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Kings defenseman Aaron Miller underwent successful hip surgery this morning for bone spur removal and to repair a torn labrum, Kings President, Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced.
The surgical procedure was performed by hip specialist Dr. Carlos Guanche in Van Nuys, California.
Miller, 34, has eight points (0-8=8) and 27 penalty minutes in 56 games with the Kings this season. The 6-foot-3, 218-pound native of Buffalo -- who appeared in his 500th NHL game at Columbus on November 13 -- has 102 points (24-78=102), 330 penalty minutes and a plus-42 rating in 538 career NHL games covering 11 seasons with the Kings and the Colorado Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques.
A Kings assistant captain, Miller has missed the last seven Kings games (March 29 - present) and 23 total games this season with a back injury.
