by Kalen Qually / Winnipeg Jets

Winnipeg Jets Prospects Highlights (Dec. 1 ‐ Dec. 7)

Chase De Leo, C – Portland (WHL)

Chase De Leo’s early season success was rewarded on Dec. 2 when he was named to USA Hockey’s preliminary World Junior Championship roster. The Mirada, California native is riding a nine‐game point streak (4G, 9A) since Nov. 21. He’s one point off of the team lead in points with 39 (16G, 23A) after 31 games played. De Leo’s most notable stat could be the consistency of his scoring as the 18‐year‐old has gone without a point only four times this season.

Tucker Poolman, D – North Dakota (NCHC)

Freshman defenceman Tucker Poolman flashed his offensive potential in a weekend series versus Lake Superior State collecting three points (2G, 1A) over two games versus the Lakers. Poolman scored both of his goals on Dec. 5, each scored on the power player, earning the blue liner first star honours in North Dakota’s 7‐4 win. The Grand Forks product has compiled seven points (5G, 2A) over 15 games in his first season of college hockey.

Andrew Copp, C – Michigan (Big 10)

University of Michigan’s captain, Andrew Copp, led the way for his team in a lopsided 8‐3 win over Ohio State on Dec. 5. Copp registered a pair of goals, which stood as the game winner and insurance marker for the Wolverines. The Ann Arbor product has now scored seven goals over 14 games this college season.

Brennan Serville, D – Michigan (Big 10)

Brennan Serville found his name in the box score three times following Michigan’s most recent game versus Ohio State. The Wolverines clobbered the Buckeyes to the tune of 8‐3, with help from the product of Pickering, ON, who collected three assists. The senior has recorded 18 points (1G, 17A) over 106 career games with Michigan.

Nik Ehlers, LW – Halifax (QMJHL)

Nik Ehlers continued his massive point streak with four assists in two games last week. The highlight of the weekend was a three‐assist night on Friday versus Charlottetown. Ehlers has now recorded a point in 15 games dating back to Oct. 29, collecting 39 points (12G, 27A) in that time.
