Winnipeg Jets Prospect Highlights

Michael Spacek, C – Red Deer (WHL)

The Czech forward is playing in his first year in North America, and is off to a roaring start. The 18-year- old has 12 points (5G, 7A) in seven games for the Red Deer Rebels. Spacek’s 12 points has him tied with six others for fourth in the league in scoring, and he currently sits as the highest scoring rookie. In Spacek’s first WHL game on Sept. 26 against the Edmonton Oil Kings, he scored two goals and was the first star of the game.

Mason Appleton, C – Michigan State (Big 10)

Mason Appleton has helped his Michigan State Spartans earn points in their first two games of the year. The Spartans are 1-0-1 and Appleton has recorded an assist in both games. The freshman also has seven shots on net and six penalty minutes to his name. Appleton played for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL last season and recorded 40 points (12G, 28A) in 54 games. Appleton and Michigan State travel to Colorado for a two-game set against the University of Denver, which goes this weekend.

Jack Roslovic, C – Miami (NCHC)

Jack Roslovic – a Jets’ first round draft pick from this year – is playing his first season in NCAA Division I, and has recorded two points (1G, 1A) in two games so far. Roslovic and the Redhawks played a weekend set versus Providence – the reigning national champions – and came away with an 0-1-1 record. Roslovic scored his first college goal in his first game, and then added an assist in the second game of the back- to-back set.

Eric Comrie, G – Manitoba (AHL)

Eric Comrie split the goaltending duties with Connor Hellebuyck in the season opening series for the Manitoba Moose. Comrie got the nod in the second game of the back-to-back set in Toronto against the Marlies. The Edmonton-native faced 41 shots, and made 39 saves, helping push the game to overtime and the eventual shootout – where the Moose would lose 3-2.
