Josh Morrissey, D – Prince Albert Raiders (WHL)
The captain of the Prince Albert Raiders had a banner offensive week helping his team to a pair of road wins. Josh Morrissey returned to the Raiders lineup after two games representing the WHL in the Subway Series challenge, then proceeded to record six points (2G, 4A) in two games. Morrissey capped off his week by being named – along with fellow Jets prospect Nic Petan – to Hockey Canada’s selection camp roster for the World Junior Hockey Championship.
Michael Hutchinson, G – Ontario Reign (ECHL)
Goaltender Michael Hutchinson’s season has been nearly spotless compiling a 12‐1‐2 record with the Ontario Reign. He earned four wins last week while recording a .922 save percentage and 1.93 goals against average. Both those figures are higher than his season statistics. Hutchinson leads the ECHL with a 1.77 goals against average and owns a .932 save percentage through 15 games.
Nicolas Petan, C – Portland Winterhawks (WHL)
Nicolas Petan had the much‐needed hot stick on Sunday helping Portland to a 6‐5 win over Saskatoon with four of his own goals. It was the first time in Petan’s high scoring WHL career that he recorded four goals in a game. He also added an assist in the game lengthening his current point streak to eight games, during which time he’s amassed an incredible 23 points (9G, 14A). Petan’s recent offensive outburst pulls him to within four points of WHL leader, Mitch Holmberg of Spokane.
Jimmy Lodge, C – Saginaw Spirit (OHL)
Jimmy Lodge seems to be at full health entering December, just prior to when USA Hockey will make their camp selections for the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championships. Lodge recorded four points (2G, 2A) in three games for the Saginaw Spirit last week giving him 11 points (4G, 7A) during an active seven‐game point streak. The Pennsylvanian now has 21 points (7G, 14A) in 22 games this OHL season.
Matt White, LW – Ontario Reign (ECHL)
Rookie pro Matt White isn’t having trouble finding offence lately as he rides a three‐game streak of twopoint games. The California native has earned six points (1G, 5A) and a +6 rating over the last three games with the Ontario Reign. He now sits four points back of the ECHL rookie scoring lead with 14 points (6G, 8A) in 20 games this season.
