The Winnipeg Jets and the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation would like to announce time is running out for Jets fans to purchase a specialty license plate.
Currently, there are only about 2,000 plates available.
“We will not be re-ordering additional license plates when the current supply sells out,” Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation Executive Director Dwayne Green said today.š “We strongly encourage people wanting a plate to purchase one promptly.”
The plates cost $70, with $30 going towards the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation. People wanting Winnipeg Jets license plates should contact their Autopac agent.
A total of 27,000 Winnipeg Jets specialty license plates have been produced. The Jet plates went on sale December 12, with the original run of 20,000 selling out within a week.
“Response from our fans has been tremendous,” said Green. “This confirms that our fans are among the most passionate in the National Hockey League. After two additional runs of 5,000 and 2,000 plates respectively, we will not be re-ordering at this time.
“The True North Foundation will be re-assessing future Winnipeg Jets license plate needs prior to the start of the 2012-13 NHL season.”
