Festerling, 25, joined the Thrashers organization during the 2010-11 season after a trade with the Montreal Canadiens on Feb. 24, 2011 in exchange for goaltender Drew MacIntyre. The Prince George, BC native has appeared in 83 NHL games over three seasons with the Anaheim Ducks. In that time, the 6’1, 208-pound defenceman has recorded eight assists and 33 penalty minutes. Festerling has also played in 189 AHL games over four seasons with Portland, Iowa, San Antonio, Toronto, Syracuse, Hamilton, and Chicago, scoring 42 points (6g, 36a) and recording 178 penalty minutes. Prior to his pro career, Festerling won a Memorial Cup in 2007 while playing with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants.
Holzapfel, 22, has spent the last three seasons with the Atlanta Thrashers’ AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. Last year, the 6’0, 185-pound centre appeared in 68 games for the Wolves where he recorded 27 points (12g, 15a) and 20 penalty minutes. The Regina, SK native has recorded 82 points (32g, 50a) in 201 games with the Chicago Wolves. Holzapfel won a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2008 World Junior Championships in Czech Republic. Holzapfel was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the second round, 43rd overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Kulda, 22, appeared in a pair of games for the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010-11 and recorded no points and two penalty minutes. The 6’2, 194-pound defenceman spent the majority of the 2010-11 season in the American Hockey League with the Chicago Wolves where he collected 17 points (5g, 12a) and 73 penalty minutes in 69 games. The native of Riga, Latvia has played in six games with the Thrashers in his pro career, recording two assists and four penalty minutes. Kulda was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the seventh round, 200th overall in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Machacek, 22, played in 10 games with the Atlanta Thrashers during the 2010-11 season and previously played in two games with the Thrashers during 2008-09. In 12 career NHL games, the 6’1, 195-pound right winger has recorded no points or penalty minutes. The Lethbridge, AB native has spent the last three seasons with the Thrashers’ AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves. He appeared in 67 games for the Wolves in 2010-11 where he recorded 53 points (21g, 32a) and 45 penalty minutes. Machacek won a Memorial Cup before his pro career while playing with the WHL’s Vancouver Giants in 2007. Machacek was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the third round, 67th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Maxwell, 23, appeared in 12 games for the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010-11 and recorded two points (1g, 1a) and two penalty minutes. McArdle, 24, appeared in 11 games with the Florida Panthers in 2010-11 and recorded 16 penalty minutes. The 5’11, 190-pound right winger spent the majority of the season with the AHL’s Rochester Americans where he appeared in 54 games and accumulated 26 points (14g, 12a) and 106 penalty minutes. In his NHL career, the native of Toronto, Ontario has played in 33 games for Florida totaling three points (1g, 2a) and 47 penalty minutes. McArdle was originally drafted by the Florida Panthers in the first round, 20th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
