The MTS Centre was a spectacle on Monday, as playoff hockey returned to Winnipeg. Here is a look, by the numbers, at what made Monday’s whiteout so special.

After a 19 year absence, the Stanley Cup Playoffs returned to Winnipeg as the puck was dropped at 8:11 p.m. on Apr. 20, 2015.


The crowd was in a frenzy for most of the game, and according to Sportsnet, the sound peaked at 124 decibels, which is only 2 decibels shy of tying the Guinness Record for the loudest crowd roar in an indoor stadium.


Every seat in the MTS Centre had a white Our Team, Our Tradition towel laid on the backrest before the fans arrived. Check out the time lapse of the setup!

The one and only Don Cherry was in the building for the game. And of course he was wearing a white pinstripe suit.
