The New York Islanders have a message to all of their fans as we approach the 2008-09 NHL season - welcome back!

After another hot summer, the time has come to start making your plans to enjoy exciting Islanders hockey at Nassau Coliseum. Individual tickets for all Islanders home games are now on sale.

There was an exclusive event beginning at 9 a.m. for all fans who purchased their tickets at the Nassau Coliseum Box Office or Islanders Team Store at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville. At the Coliseum, Chris Campoli, Freddy Meyer, and Frans Nielsen met with fans from 10 am to noon. Sparky the Dragon and the Ice Girls were also on hand.

Tickets are now on sale at all other outlets. In addition to the Coliseum and Team Store, fans can purchase tickets at:
Some highlights of the Islanders schedule include their three home meetings against the Rangers on October 27, January 13, and March 5; matchups with Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins on November 8 and 26, and February 16; and a contest with Wayne Gretzky’s Phoenix Coyotes on March 8. Of course, it all gets started with Opening Night against the St. Louis Blues on October 11.

In addition, there are many key dates throughout the season that you will not want to miss!

One of those games is an early season matinee on Oct. 13—Columbus Day—when all kids 14-and-under will receive a Bill Guerin jersey when the Islanders face the Buffalo Sabres.

On November 11, the Islanders will honor Veterans by holding Military Appreciation Day. The first 10,000 fans arriving to watch the Islanders take on the Philadelphia Flyers, will receive a military hat.

On December 16 the Islanders welcome the Washington Capitals to town, and all kids 17-and-under can attend the game for free! That’s right, free! One week later, on December 23, when the Isles face off against the Atlanta Thrashers, all fans in attendance will receive an Islanders Team Banner.

Then, on consecutive days in March, the Islanders are having two very special promotions honoring two legends. On March 7, it will be Mike Bossy Bobblehead Night. The following night, March 8, it will be Bryan Trottier Bobblehead Night.

If you find yourself selecting several games to attend this season, you should consider one of our partial ticket plans. With more than a dozen different plans to choose from, there is something for every fan. Plans start as low as $19 per seat and as few as four games per plan.

One great option is the Victory Plan—which rewards fans in attendance each time the Islanders win a select game. Start the season with tickets to four games in this plan, and potentially see up to eight games!

Another great option is the Matinee Plan, which includes all nine of our day games. In addition to great seats, you will receive food and merchandise. With the kids out of school, it makes for a great afternoon of fun!

Or you might want to consider the Big Value Plan—which includes five great matchups and even better savings. Choose from a first-half or second-half option, or pick up both plans and enjoy 10 games.
