Sarnia's Matt Martin tallied three points and a combined 22 penalty minutes in three games, while Brian Day also factored into three goals for Colgate over the weekend. Check out how all of the Islanders prospects did this week in this edition of NYI Weekly Prospect Watch.

Update: New Hampshire had a rough weekend, losing 8-3 against Lowell on Friday and 8-6 against Boston College. Kessel scored his first goal of the season against Boston College.
 
What the Scouts are Saying: "Even though his team gave up 16 goals in two games this weekend, Blake was only a minus-1 and scored his first collegiate goal on Saturday. He's seeing a ton of ice and playing in all situations. He's really developing nicely.

Name: Brian Day

Acquired: Islanders 2006 sixth-round draft pick (171st overall)
Stats to date: Games Played (8), Goals (7), Assists (1), Points (8), PIM (4)

Update: Day factored into three of Colgate's goals this weekend, scoring two and assisting on another. However, Colgate went 0-1-1 this weekend against Cornell. Day leads the team in goals and points, and has its lone shorthanded tally of the season.



Name: Justin DiBenedetto
Position: Left Wing
Team: Sarnia (10-10-1-1)^
League: OHL
Acquired: Islanders 2008 sixth-round draft pick (175th overall)
Stats to date: Games Played (17), Goals (15), Assists (17), Points (32), PIM (29)

Update: DiBenedetto totaled two goals and three assists in three games last week, but Sarnia only picked up one win in the process. DiBenedetto earned Second Star honors with a goal and an assist in a 4-2 Sarnia win over Barrie on Saturday. He matched his performance the following day in a loss. His 32 points rank him fourth in the OHL.



Name: Matt Donovan
Position: Defenseman
Team: Cedar Rapids (10-3-0)

Acquired: Islanders 2008 fourth-round draft pick (96th overall)

Update: After capturing the 2008 World Junior A Challenge title with United States, Donovan returned to Cedar Rapids, where his team went 1-1-0 last weekend. Donovan scored a goal and was +2 in a 3-2 win over Green Bay.

Update: Djurgardens had off last week. They resume play on Saturday against Skelleftea.



Name: Max Gratchev

Update: Gratchev assisted on two goals in a 5-2 win over his former Rimouski squad on Sunday, He recorded a team-high nine shots on goal and was named the game's Third Star.

Update: Gregoire helped salvage a split against Alaska-Anchorage by assisting on North Dakota's first goal in its 3-1 win on Saturday.

Update: Guthrie has been back for only two weeks, but Islanders sources say that he has been impressive with his work ethic since his return.




Name: Travis Hamonic
Position: Defenseman
Team: Moose Jaw (7-14-0-1)^

Acquired: Islanders 2008 second-round draft pick (53rd overall)
Stats to date: Games Played (18), Goals (2), Assists (11), Points (13), PIM (41)

Update: Hamonic was a +2 in Moose Jaw's 3-0 victory over Seattle on Tuesday. It was the team's only win the past week.



Name: Mark Katic
Position: Defenseman
Team: Sarnia (10-10-1-1)^

Acquired: Islanders 2007 third-round draft pick (62nd overall)

Update: Katic scored the game-winning goal on the power play in Sarnia's 4-2 win over Barrie on Saturday. Katic leads all Sarnia defensemen in goals, assists and points.
 
 
 
Name: Simon Lacroix
Position: Defenseman
Team: Shawinigan (21-4-0-0)^

Acquired: Islanders 2007 seventh round draft pick (196th overall)

Update: Shawinigan continues to roll and extended their winning streak to 14 games. Lacroix picked up an assist in each of the two wins last week.
 


Name: Matt Martin

Update: Martin had a solid three games with Sarnia. He combined for two goals, one assist and 22 penalty minutes, including two fights.
 
 

Name: Tyrell Mason

Update: Clarkson dropped their two games last week, losing back-to-back 5-1 decisions to Harvard and Dartmouth.
 


 
Name: Aaron Ness

Update: Niemi tallied two assists in a 6-5 win over Swift Current on Sunday. Saskatoon has won five straight games and continues to be their division leader.
 
 
 
Name: Kevin Poulin

Update: Victoriaville suffered two losses last week.

Update: Rakhshani did not play in a 4-2 loss against St. Cloud State. The following night, he scored a goal in a 2-1 loss against St. Cloud.



Name: Stefan Ridderwall
Position: Goaltender

League: Swedish Elite League
Acquired: Islanders 2006 sixth round draft pick (173rd overall)
Stats to date: GAA (2.77), SV% (.900)

Update: Ridderwall earned a 2-2 tie on Saturday against Skelleftea. Ridderwall made an astounding 50 saves in the game.

 


Name:Doug Rogers

Update: Harvard went 2-0-1 while Rogers tallied an assist and two penalty minutes in the three games.

Update: Won consecutive home games against Denver––4-2 and 2-1. Weslosky made 23 saves in the first win and 25 saves in the second.
